THE BIOMIMIC FARMING INSTITUTE

Ente del Terzo Settore sulla Agricoltura Biomimica

The Biomimic Farming Institute sets to apply the principles of Biomimicry to agriculture and a non-dogmatic approach to regenerative agriculture to accelerate climate adaptation and grow food in the way it should.

The Institute uses the innovative farming project Quintosapore, founded by Alessandro and Nicola Giuggioli in Umbria in 2020, as a testing laboratory.

The farm has been applying the principles of biomimicry to support nature with a unique mix of organic, regenerative, biodynamic, agroforestry, effective microorganisms, biochar and quantum physics techniques.

THE THREE PILLARS OF THE INSTITUTE

"We set ourselves for the most challenging (and exciting) job there is - try to create our own stable growing environment as quickly as possible, to adapt to a changing climate and to show another way of farming is not only possible, but can flourish in ways beyond the imagination."

Nicola Giuggioli
Founder of Quintosapore
and The Biomimic Farming Institute

“The Jeopardy of farming is already immense, but as weather systems react to climate change and wider nature loss, the work Quintosapore does on the ground is hope brought to life. It combines wisdom from the soil, watching nature and letting nature lead – all cornerstones of progressive ecology.”

Lucy Siegle
Author, journalist
and broadcaster

“Quintosapore’s passion for truly biomimic farming will define a new generation of nature inspired food production.”

THE POTENTIAL OF
BIOMIMIC FARMING

Biomimic farming is a concept that involves emulating and incorporating natural processes and systems into farming environments, drawing inspiration from nature’s efficient and sustainable methods of producing food.

The Biomimic Farming Institute supports this work by studying how to replicate the diversity found in natural ecosystems to create resilience and balanced farm environments to adapt to an ever urging climate chaos. This approach eliminates the reliance on chemicals, promotes organic and regenerative farming techniques, and aims to increase yields while preserving the health of the land.

“Our approach is simple, we blend ancient wisdom with cutting-edge innovation for a holistic approach to agriculture, to put back real flavour and nutrition into the food we grow and eat.”

Alessandro Giuggioli
Co-founder of Quintosapore and Head of Research, Biomimic Farming Institute
